Golf Cart Technical Question?

I have a 1996 Club Car. I have removed the flywheel and there is an electical component behind it. I looks to be some kind of magnetic electrical connector. What’s the official name of it? Also the reason we are replacing it is because the guy i bought it from said the connector was bad. The clutch wont kick it into gear like it should. Does for about a second and then stops. Is this the problem? Thanks for all of your help on this issue.

In honesty I’d check with a Club Car Mechanic……or invest in a repair and parts manual if you are serious about doing your own mechanical work…..It will save you a lot of grief for sure.
